Getting “Zrbt’s” from Daddy

Well, today is my first day home alone.  Of course I’m not really home alone, I have Tanner and Tucker to keep me company.  And they are really great company.  By home alone, I mean my parents (Grammy and Papa) have gone back “home” to Hawaii for the Winter and Julie is back to work after a wonderful vacation to Wisconsin and a week off at home.  My Mom and Dad were here for the boys’ first six months of life and we enjoyed every minute of it.  I know it was tough for them to leave; as tough for them as it was for us, I think.  I know we have lost a great deal of support in taking care of our boys.  My Mom was wonderful with them.  My dad was great with them.  (THANKS MOM AND DAD!!!  FOR EVERYTHING!  WE LOVE YOU AND MISS YOU!)  I learned so much from them over the past six months and I know Julie feels the same.  Now, alone during the weekdays, I carry on.  (I re-read this last sentence and it sounds like a chore but believe me, it is an absolute pleasure!)  It is really awesome to be able to be there for my boys.  God has truly blessed us with the ability to raise our boys the way we are.  By the way, the boys are napping nicely right now. :-)
…and I should be doing laundry, or something else productive, right?

So, what next… Well, the boys had their 6 month well-baby check-up on the 24th and they both passed amazingly.  Tanner weighed in at 18 lbs. and 26 1/2 inches long.  His big little brother Tucker weighed in at 19 lbs. and 27 1/4 inches long.  They both hit all the right development marks even for their uncorrected age (they were born 1 month early), so that’s fantastic.  “Solid” food has been introduced too.  (Ok, remember, nothing at this point is solid, if you know what I mean.)  Favorites are sweet potatoes and peas (and much to my dismay, prunes), and they have now had their first taste of meat, if you can really call a pureed mushy mess of goopy liquefied rice and chicken meat.  But hey, it says so on the label, so who am I to disagree.  Tastes like Chef-Boyardee-in-a-can to me…

How about some pictures?  A wide mix this time.  Some vacation shots including Lambeau Field, our wonderful Inn in Door County, some pumpkin patch shots, and a variety of others…  We even spent a good deal of time landscaping around the house, so some before and after pictures will follow in the next post.  Enjoy these pictures for now.
