Tanner and Tucker are really disappointed the Packers will not be heading to the Superbowl this year.  After all, it was their first Packer football season and there was an awful lot to be happy about.  But alas, as is a frequent statement in the Packers World, “There’s always next year!”  And the boys would like everyone to know they have it on good authority that Brett Favre will be back for his 18th season.  You see, Favre’s daughters want him to play next year, and being the good father he is, he won’t disappoint them.  (For the record, the boys aren’t real happy with Aaron Rodgers as the next GB QB to take the reigns, so they’re hoping for another Favre season to find someone else.  They’re hoping for a great trade/draft season!)

And now that their football season is over, Tank and Tuck will be focusing their attention on the upcoming baseball season.  After all, it’s only a couple of months away and they have a team to root for.  They’ve decided to be Red Sox fans!  Hey, the Sox won the World Series the year they were born, what better way to start a lifetime of fanaticism!  I have it on good authority there is no conflict being a Packers fan and a Red Sox fan.  In fact, I can’t think of two better teams with better fan bases to be a part of.  So, we {ahem} they have decided to follow the Sox.

The Boston K-Men

They already have important friends in the Red Sox Nation via the Boston K-Men so it’s a natural selection for them.  You should visit the Boston K-Men website to learn more about them… order a t-shirt (we did!) and support a worthy cause and a great team.  The boys are looking forward to a great baseball season… and let’s not forget… a great Packer Season next year too!  But for now…

Go Sox!
The Boston Red Sox!

Wait, what’s that you say?  Where are the pictures?
Oh yeah, here are a few new ones…

Well, it’s 2008 and it’s off to a great start already!  Tanner & Tucker got a special, although just a little belated, Christmas present in the mail on the last day of 2007.  They are now officially on the Green Bay Packer Season Ticket Waiting List!  Now, most of you know the list is quite long from an earlier post (actually, it’s ridiculously long) and it will be years (see below) before the boys get their chance to buy tickets (Tanner is number 76,700 and Tucker is 76,701), but it’s still pretty neat to be on the list.  Here are their official letters from the Green Bay Packers:

And of course, that’s not all…  Tucker got a tooth! He “cut” it chewing on a fortune cookie at a China Buffet after church last Sunday.  Don’t worry, Tanner is working very hard on his first tooth too.  We’re so proud!  And the fortune was great too.  I know we saved it… if I can find it… ok, here it is:

“A financial investment will yield returns beyond your hopes.”
I guess it’s time to make another deposit in their college funds!!

We had a wonderful Christmas and a very happy New Year’s Eve.  The boys really enjoyed opening their presents.  There were so many presents the boys even had to take a nap before finishing!  Whose fault is that?  I think you know who you are!  :-)    Anyway, here’s a link to a photo gallery of some Christmas pictures.

We hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and the four of us wish you a joyous, healthy, and prosperous 2008!

Oh yeah, the Packer waiting list is now (obviously) more than 76,701 names long.  According to the Green By Packer organization, on average, approximately 70 sets of tickets that aren’t willed to family members turn over and become available each year.  Now for the math portion of the lesson…   Lambeau Field currently has 72,928 seats.  About 5,600 seats are “box seats” and 4,000 seats are limited to a lottery for residents of Brown County (that’s where Lambeau Field is located).  That leaves 63,328 seats available for season ticket holders.  Now, assuming all the sets that turnover are sets of four, there are about 15,832 (63,328÷4) sets of four tickets available.  Divide that by the number of sets that turn over each year (approx. 70) and the boys can expect their tickets in about 226 years!  Actually, I don’t think this is really that accurate of a calculation and we can always hope for better results, right!?  Do you think I’m crazy?  If you’re still reading to this point, you’re probably just as crazy as I am!

Santa and the boys (Mommy too!)
Santa Claus!

Well, it’s almost that time of year again, the Christmas tree is already up (actually we have two this year!), the lights are going up on the house, and the boys had their first sit on Santa’s lap.  (I wonder what they asked Santa for this year?  Hmmmmm…)   Regardless of what they ask for, one thing they will be getting is a spot on the incredibly long and ridiculous waiting list for Packer season tickets.  The letters adding them to the list (they will be something like 75,000th on the list!) will go out in the mail today.  Here is a link to a great article about the list from the October 15th, 2007 Sport Illustrated. So if they’re lucky, their kid’s kids might get the tickets, but who knows, and its cool to be on the list anyway!

We took the boys to get 6 month portraits taken recently too.  I know, if you’re keeping track, they’re 7 months old now, but these were taken when they were just over 6 months old.  At least the photos are here before their 1st birthday(s), right!?

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving with Julie’s parents and sister Diane.  We have a lot to be thankful for, always, but we feel especially blessed this year with our boys, each other, and our whole family.  There was turkey of course, and lots of it, along with all the other essential Turkey Day accoutrements, including an excellent (tape delayed of course) Packers Lions game.  GO PACK!  A side note here:  I’m slightly depressed that the Packers lost last night to the Cowboys, and about Brett Favre’s injuries, but more upset at the NFL because I couldn’t even see the game delayed since it wasn’t available on TV here…  Mr. Goodell needs to get his head out of his…

…anywhoo, we have done a lot of landscaping around the house and I managed to get a big chunk of our “new” fence painted with a new Wagner Power sprayer (why I didn’t spend the $70 on that a long, long time ago, I will never know!)  Now the fence looks great from the street with some pine garland and red bows Julie and Diane put up while I was away.  But, I think it will be spring before the rest of the fence is completed (sorry Honey.)  I just returned from a week in Chicago at RSNA (that’s the Radiology Society of North America’s annual convention/show) where my business partner and I had a great deal of success promoting our business, ORQA, LLC.  In fact, it was more successful than either of us imagined and we have garnered a lot of support from vendors and a lot of interest with customers.  That’s great and it means we have a lot to do, as if we didn’t already.  Being away from home for a week was really tough on me though.  I’m glad Julie’s parents stayed for the week to help take care of them.  I think Tanner and Tucker grew a whole bunch while I was gone, and they started putting their feet in their mouths while I was gone too.  They seem to have a great appreciation for their big toes!

Well, this is just a quick post to get some pictures up here for everybody and a quick update too.  We are going to be getting some actual family Christmas pictures taken soon too (never too early right?  Ha!)

Oh yeah, I just got this via email and in case you never saw it, the following video is absolutley hilarious!

NO, I am not in the video!

The adventure continues soon,
